Garnett (captain ) : A most successful captain , whose only fault was a lack of cheerfulness in the field. Scored consistently and well throughout the season , some beautiful late -cuts and leg -strokes being the features of each innings . Kept wicket most creditably on all occasions . W. A. E. Austen: A fair left -handslow bowler, w h orelies a good deal on his field , should learn to bring his arm more over the shoulder ; improved bat ; good ground field , but uncertain catch . Will be captain next year. *W.B. B a k e r: 'T h ebest bowlerin the t e a m; m e d i u mleft-h a n d. H a db a dluckin having catches dropped. Hard-hitting plucky bat. Splendid catch and field . *F. L. Fane: T h ebest bat in the team, scoring freely all round the wicket ; should prove a first - class cricketer . Goodfield at cover -point . W. B. L. Barrington : Disappointing bat ; has not come on as muchas expected ; played two or three goodinnings. Poorcatch. *F. J. Peers : Thebest catch andfield in the team ; has not come up to expectation in batting or bowling , though very useful at times in either department . *J. B. Dyne: Very fair bat, coming off whenmost wanted ; hits very hard when set . Fair change bowler. Poor field . H. R. B. Hancock : Dashing bat, but too anxious to score . Hits very hard, and should be very useful next year ; throws in well, but must learn to do so quickly ; uncertain catch. S. G. Wallace : Theonly fast bowler in the team; mustlearn not to sacrifice length to pace ; breaks a little on slow wickets . His eyesight does not allow him to bat well . Good field . * G. Tassell : Verygood bowler , medium right -hand. Only discovered late in the season . H a s a marvellous off-break, but must learn to pay more attention to length . Bad eye-sight prevents him batting or fielding brilliantly . O. E. Wreford Brown: Only played in three matches ; spoilt his batting early in the season by trying to hit . Should prove a very good bat next year . Splendid judge of a run. Smart field . C H E L T E N H A M C O L L E G E . Captainfor 1894.-F.H. Bateman-Champain. R e s u l t so f M a t c h e s .
