Gentlemenin the country, by writing to J. L. , F. , & Co. in the winter , canhavebats selected and kept specially for them, so as to be in first -class condition for the Cricket Season, R e m i t t a n c e s - J. L. , F. , & Co. beg to inform the public that orders from persons unknown to them should invariably be accompanied by a remittance to the value of the goods ordered , or, if this is unknown, to the probable value . Inattention to this particular is likely to cause delay . A n ysurplus remittances will be returned on demand, or passed to the credit of the purchaser . In cases where accounts have been opened with Clubs , &c, 'it is neces- sary that the order should be signed by the Secretary or other responsible officer . P,O.O. should be madepayable at the Chief Office . Clubs desirous of opening accounts should write us, so that the necessary arrangements m a ybem a d e. D i s c o u n t sfor P r o m p tC a s hP a y m e n t s - General orders to the amountof 10s . 6d. and upwards, accompanied by cash , are entitled to a discount of 5 per cent . A larger discount is now allowed on orders of higher value (but only w h e naccompanied by cash) on the following scale , viz .: - Orders to the value of £2 and upwards will be entitled to a discount of 75 per cent . Those of £5 and upwards to 10 per cent ., and those of f10 and upwards to 15percent. N.B. There are a few goods which are unavoidably excepted from the special discounts : but which will be subject to the ordinarg rate , of 5 per cent . Thesegoods will be markedwith a star against the numberor class , or will be otherwise specially mentioned. Cumulative Discounts . Forthe convenienceofClubsandGentlemenw h o maypurchase goods at various times during the season , paying for each lot at the time of purchase , J. L, F. , & Co. have decided to allow the full dis- count , as if they had been purchased at one time . It will be necessary , how- ever , for the purchasers to keep their invoices and receipts , and produce them w h e nthey claim the discount . N o claims for discount , however, can be entertained after the end of the year in whichsuch goods were purchased.
