Laver made 118, and Vautin 164. -Playing at Westbury , on April 22, for Leighton v. L. C. H. Palairet's Eleven , F. S. Jackson's 111 included three successive hits for six . At Lord's , on M a y18, against M.C.C. and Ground J. J. Lyons scored 149 in second innings of Australians in an hour and thirty -five minutes . At one time he made 50 in four successive overs . In second innings of Australians v. North of England at Manchester, on July 1. J. J. Lyons scored the first hundred in an hour.-A t Leatherhead , on June 24, against St. John's School , Christ's Hospital got the last 27 runs in seven minutes , and the winning hit was made off the last ball of the day. For Mr. A. J. Webbe's Eleven v. Oxford University , at Oxford, on M a y 18, J. J. Ferris scored 114 in the two innings of the former without being once out.-- At Kennington Oval, on July 11, Surrey C. & G. v. Wanderers. In six hours of actual play, 625 runs were scored for eight wickets .- A tClapton , on June 13, Clapton v. Wanstead, Clapton scored 252 for one wicket . O n two successive Saturdays , against London Hospital and Wanstead respectively , Clapton made591 for three wickets .- I nsecond innings of Eastbourne v. Crystal Palace , at Eastbourne , on August 27, H. S. Bush and H. J. Davenport scored 205 in an hour and seventeen minutes without losing a wicket .-- In second innings of match v. Ina match begun on July 31 at Portsmouth between Australians v. Oxford and Cambridge Past and Present , the Australians scored 843, the highest innings on record in an important match.
