A very useful cricketer ; a powerful bats- m a n; good field ; bowls fast right -hand. HEDLEY, W. C. (Marlborough ). A fine free bat, especially on off -side cuts very finely . Fast right -hand bowler , getting a good deal on. HEWETT, H. T. (Harrowand Oxford). One of the very best left -handed batsmen in England, hitting hard all round ; excellent point ; has rendered invaluable service as well by his able captaincy . NEWTON, A. E. (Eton and Oxford). A n excellent wicket -keeper ; useful and plucky bat ; good field anywhere. ROE, W. N. (Cambridge ). Good bat, with great punishing powers ; good slow bowler ; very good field , with a quick return . TRASK, W. (Sherborne ). Asteady bat with taking style . Fair change bowler . WICKHAM, Rev. A. P. (Marlborough and Oxford). He has fully maintained his Oxford reputation as a wicket -keeper , standing well up to any kind of bowling ; and very quick , especially on the leg side ; improving bat. W O O D S, S. M. J.
