Agood steady bat, and capital field . LUCAS, R. S. (Merchant Taylors ). Afair bat ; brilliant field . MACGREGOR, G. (Uppinghamand Cambridge). A splendid wicket -keeper , one of the very best of the day, and useful bat. ΝΕΡΕΑΝ, Ε. Α. (Sherborne and Oxford). A really first -class all -round cricketer ; a sound bat, and very effective bowler-slow round, with a great break from leg ; good field ; unable to play muchlast year. O'BRIEN, T. C. (Oxford). A very dangerous batsman, scoring very fast when SCOTT, S. W. A thoroughly sound and dependable bat , hitting well all round ; a m o d e r a t efield. set ; drives andcuts withgreat power; goodfield . STODDART, A. E. One of the best amateur batsmen, combining power and freedom of style ; has no superior as an out-field ; a very useful change bowler . Played consistently fine cricket throughout the year . THESIGER, Hon. F. J. N. (Winchester and Oxford). A steady bat, with good defence ; as a fieldsman , both brilliant and safe . WEBBE, A. J. (Harrowand Oxford). A batsman with excellent defence ; cut- ting very smartly : still one of the very best bats in England on a difficult wicket; a safe field . DOUGLAS, J. (Cambridge). Plays for Middlesex . N O T T S . DENSHAM, H. A. Good all -round cricketer ; useful bat, and excellent field . DIXON, J. A. A fine bat, with excellent defence , and good field ; at times very effective bowler (medium pace). HOWETT, R. H. Goodbowler and field ; often gets runs at a pinch . LINDLEY , T. (Cambridge ). Useful all -round player ; bowls with judgment and is generally effective ; useful bat and sure field . OATES , F. (Harrow ). Goodbat and sure field . REDGATE, O. Excellent all -round cricketer ; dangerous bat whenset ; capital field , and useful bowler at times . ROBINSON, J. S.
