Duguid-M'Combie, (capt .): Plays capital cricket whenhe gets runs, but has been very uncertain throughout ; he makes too m a n ymistakes ; fast and safe field . Latterly has improved as Captain in the field , though not yet sufficiently alive to the requirements of the moment. *F. H. Todd: Has been very disappinting as a bowler , having fallen off greatly in pitch and straightness . As a bat occasionally hits hard, but has no defence . W . E. B. Monypenny: A steady bat, with some effective strokes all round, es- pecially a late cut ; has been the most useful bat in the XI. A good short slip ; h a sbeenof little service with the ball. R. H. Moore: H a sbeen a great dis- appointment , though on one or two recent occasions he has shewn good form ; hasall the makings of an excellent bat. Smartandsafe in the field . *B. H. Winterbotham : A good steady bat on fast wickets ; helpless against slow bowling ; anexcellent leg hit ; otherwise a slow scorer . Abad field and catch . H. V. Prichard: Thebest bowler in the team. O na wicket at all slow he is very dangerous , having a good break-back, and keeping a good length ; should be a fine bowler in a year or two. Poor, though improving , bat ; pitiable field . A. M .Adamson: Fast left -hand bowler , straight , and keeping a fair length , but
