Marshall (W.P.B.)-Good bat, particularly strong on the on side ; scored fairly consistently throughout the season , playing several very good innings ; moderate change bowler ; very good short slip . *A. O. Dowson (W.P.B.)-A very good bat at a net, but was very disappointing all through the season , only playing one good innings ; steady medium right -hand bowler ; excellent field . *R. H. Nicholls (S.H. )-A thoroughly good and reliable bat, especially strong in his forward play ; brilliant field , but sometimes inclined to be careless . T. N. Sample (S.H.)--Good length bowler, but without enough sting ; batting still peculiar often . D. Christopherson (S.H. )-Failedstrangely as a bat; proved a very useful slow left -handbowler. *P. Lee (R.W.)-Fair bat ; played well at the beginning of the season , but fell off badly towards the end ; moderate field . *A. E. Slater (J.C.)-A really good, steady bat , with good style ; played several excellent innings ; smart ground-field . *J. F. Rhoades (T)- A good fast left -hand bowler ; improved greatly as a bat through the season . W . F. Gowers (W.G.M.)-Avery fair right -handbowler ; weakbat. W. H. Eckersley (W.P.B. )-Not exactly a stylish bat , but played some very useful innings ; fair field . A. L. Allen (R. W.)-Avery fair wicket -keep ; did excellently at Lord's ; improved bat.
