Crabtree (captain ) : Has been hard-working captain , and had a very successful season ; a greatly improved bat, and has on several occasions saved his side from disaster ; a brilliant field anywhere. *E. H. Bray: A good bat, hitting hard and well if once set , but was rather unlucky at the beginning of the season ; an excellent wicket -keeper , and has been invaluable to the Eleven in that place ; is also a very good field in the country . W. B. Baker : A very good left -hand bowler, using his head well, with considerable commandof the ball ; a useful bat towards the end of an innings , with fair hitting powers ; very slow field , but a goodcatch. F. L. Fane: T h esoundestbatin the Elevenand a mostconsistent scorer , with an excellent defence ; with harder hitting ought to prove first -class ; aslow field and ought to take more pains . *E. Anderton : A very good fast bowler, and has done some excellent performances during the season , being very
