Brain : Very fine wicket -keeper ; proved very useful as a bat. V. T. Hill : A dashing bat ; splendid field at slip . R. C. N. Palairet : Excellent bat, with beautiful style ; very safe field at slip . E. E. Lea : Goodfast bowler and was very successful ; a useful bat, but with a style of his own. E. G. M. Carmichael : Safe and useful bat ; moderate change bowler ; marvellous field at point . T. C. Robinson : Fair bat but rather unlucky ; energetic secretary.H. O. F. Davis : Useful wicket keeper ; poor bat, good field . P. F. Warner: Fine bat ; off colour at the begininng of the season , but improved as the season progressed ; fine cut behind point ; can bowl a bit . R. G. L. Austin : hits well ; amoderate lob bowler ; good cover point . W. E. Cleaver : A lelt -handed bat withgood style ; powerful on the off : fairly successful as a slow left -hand bowler .
