T h e importanceof this cannotbe overrated. O u rn e w"Special Driver " Bat (Frowd's Patent) has given results hitherto unattained by any other Bat, the driving powerbeing greater , andstinging or concussion to the hands is reduced practically to nil . A reduction in weight of f r o mo n eto t w oouncesis also effected. Thesuccess of this Batduring 1881 , the first season's use, wasaltogether unprecedented in the annals of Cricket , and this has been fully con- firmed by the results of the subsequent seasons . Theopinions expressed as to its superiority to any other Bat are unanimous, and we are constantly receiving great numbers of perfectly spontane- ous testimonials concerning it, some of them being quite enthusiastic , from all parts of the country , and from the colonies .
