ForRosehill v. Seven Hills (Australia ), Wharftook 9 wickets for six runs . A. Conyngham, in a match in Queensland , secured 5 for twelve ; for Stanley v. Unions, 6 for five runs ; and for same v. N e wFarm, 13 for twenty.-Connell , for Camperdown(B) v. NewtonMechanics, took 5 wickets in six consecutive balls .-S. Upton, for Waratah(N.S.W.) v. Gundurimba, got 8 for five and 7 for no runs .-A.Elliot , in an Adelphi Junior (South Australia ) match, got 8 wickets in ten consecutive balls . Kirby,in a Borough C.C. match (N.S.W.), got 9 wickets for one run.-W. G. Grace , jnr ., for Clifton College v. Cheltenham College , at Clifton , took thirteen wickets , June 17. -I nthe Eton and Harrowmatch, on July 8, D. H. Forbes (the Eton captain ) dismissed M. Y. Barlow and J. T. Ferris withthe twofirst balls bowled. I nthe Kentand Lancashire m a t c hat Ton- bridge , in July, Mold and Briggs bowled throughout for the latter . In the match Westburyv. Cressy , played at Cressy (Tasmania), on Nov. 19, R. W. L. Fernandes (Old Rossallian ), out of eight balls bowled secured six wickets for no runs , five being bowled consecutively .- M r. Sanders , of the Ivanhoe C.C. , accomplished a wonderful bowling performance in the match against Downside, played at Cobham. In the first innings he captured nine wickets at a cost of eleven runs, and in the second eight for eight . Atone time Mr. Sanders took six wickets in seven balls .- R e v. J. C. Crawford, for Married of Henley, bowled last six wickets of Single for no runs.--For N e wUniversity v. Criterion , on M a y21 , W .Hilton took eight wickets (seven bowled) in seven overs . C u r i o u sIncidents. G. Giffen , for South Australia v. Victoria , scored 271 , and took sixteen wickets for 166 runs . In two successive matches for Belvidere (Sydney ) v. Cariton , C. A. Richardson (captain ) carried his bat through the innings .-A. С. Bannermann, the Carlton captain , performing a similar feat on the first occasion . Ina match played , on July 9, between Addlestrop and Over-Norton , at Addlestrop , Over-Norton won the toss , and made 16 runs (6 extras ), Addlestrop's two first menmade70 runs between them, all from the bat, neither being out, Addlestrop then declared their innings closed , and sent in Over- Norton, whose second venture realised 35 runs. Addlestrop thus wonbyau innings (without the loss of a single wicket ) and 19 runs . Aremarkable match was played at Hare Hatch , Twyford , Berks , on Sept. 3, between the local club and aneleven selected by Mr. Holmes . The latter's side batted first , but were all out for 3 runs , all of which were byes . The bowling of Mr. Burton (captain of HareHatch) and Leaver was extraordinary . Burton, in the first innings , bowled 4 overs for no runs , and took 6 wickets , while Leaver , in 3 overs , took 4. Hare Hatch made 36, and Mr. Holmes's XI., in their second innings , made 32. Mr. Burton this time taking 5 wickets for 4 runs, all clean bowled. In a match between Redbourn and Finchley , at Redbourn , on Sept. 13, C. W. Beresford scored 60 (including a seven ) for former , although he was severely injured more than once , and batted in great pain . In a match , St. Michael's v. Enterprise , former , after scoring 197 for four men, were all out for 207 , when the Enterprise , with 208 to win, lost six for 77, after which E. MasonandW. R. Coe added 115 , and the side won by 2 wickets .-The match , England v. Australia , at Melbourne , beginning Jan. 1, proved a record attendance for the ground-
