Excellent reserve wicket -keeper ; quite young, and exceedingly promising ; very fair batsman. KEMBLE, A. T. Very plucky and good wicket -keeper ; did good service for Lancashire throughout the season ; is also a goodbat , andfrequently scores well. MACLAREN, A. C. (Harrow ) . An excellent bat , having splendid defence , with plenty of punishing powers ; will no doubt take a prominent place in the t e a m. STEEL, A. G. (Marlborough and Cambridge). Still a fine all-round cricketer ; a first -class batsman ; good medium-pace bowler , and fair field ; does not playmuchfirst -class cricket now. STEEL, H. B. (Uppinghamand Cambridge). A very heavy hitter , dangerous batsman, and seldom leaves the wicket without scoring . M I D D L E S E X . DAUGLISH , M. J. (Harrow and Oxford ) . A fair wicket -keeper , improving bat , andcapital field . FORD, F. G. J. (Repton and Cambridge ). Bats and bowls left -handed ; very fine hitter ; good change bowler , andsplendid out-field . HADOW, E. M. (Harrow). A good bat, with great hitting powers ; fair change bowler (fast ) ; has improved immensely in fielding . HENERY, P. J. T. (Harrow and Cambridge). Sometimes a very dangerous batsman ; his hitting was of great service on several important occasions ; goodout-field. LUCAS, R. S. (Merchant Taylor's ). A fair bat ; brilliant field . MACGREGOR, G. (Uppingham and Cambridge ). A splendid wicket -keeper , one ofthe very best of the day, and useful bat. MORDAUNT, H. J. (Eton and Cambridge ). A brilliant bat on a fast wicket , anduseful changebowler. NEPEAN , E. A. (Sherborne and Oxford ). A really first -class all -round cricketer ; a sound bat , and very effective bowler-slow round , with a great breakfromleg ; goodfield . O'BRIEN , T. C. (Oxford ). A very dangerous batsman , scoring very fast when set ; drives and cuts with great power; good field . PARAVICINI , P. J. de (Eton and Cambridge ). A splendid field anywhere ; usefulb a t. ROBERTSON, J. A useful fast bowler ; always accurate ; frequently gets runs . SCOTT , S. W. A thoroughly sound and dependable bat , hitting well all round ; batted with remarkable success in the earlier matches of the season for Middlesex ; nearly always comes off for the County ; a moderate field . STODDART , A. E. One of the best amateur batsmen , combining power and freedom of style : has no superior as an out-field ; a very useful change bowler. (Australian Teams, 1887 and 1891-92 .) THESIGER , Hon. F. J. N. (Winchester and Oxford ). A steady bat , with good defence ; as a fieldsman , both brilliant and safe .
