F. C. Crump, captain : Enthusiastic and fairly successful captain ; fair bat, with weak forward stroke ; cankeep wicket . F. G. Thompson (24) : hard-hitting and excellent bat, with a very pretty cut ; splendid point . L. M. Crump(11): Agood bat, driving to the on excellently ; a verygoodfast bowler , with a good pitch ; good field . J. Duncan (15) : Avery successful bat, cutting wonderfully well for his size ; uncertain field . R. L. Dunman(11) : Asteady bat,with acrampedstyle ; a really good bowler , breaking from the off ; brilliant field anywhere , with a remarkably quick return . A. J. Richardson (10) : A good bat, steady field , and fast , though erratic bowler . J. C. Jack (6) : A promising bat , with a very pretty off-drive ; really good natural wicket -keeper , and smart field . A. S. Clarke (5.5) : Good and steady bat ; very fair fast bowler, and sharp field . F. G. Gilling (5.5) : A most promising all -round player ; apatient andsteady bat, driving beautifully ; agood bowler , with power of breaking both ways; areally splendid field . F. A. West(5.2) : Avery fair bat ; the best bowler in the eleven , though out of form this season ; takes most wickets with a fast leg-break ; very fair field . J. A. Marsh (2.2 ) : A nunlucky bat; fails through nervousness ; a really brilliant out-field . J. A. Duncan(4): A goodbat, should hit harder ; very fair field ; can bowl. W. L. Collinson : A poor bat, though scores fast whenset ; aweak and unenergetic field . RuthinSchool, Denbigh- R. S. Alston (9.5 ) : Proved himself an efficient captain ; hasavery pretty cut but not muchdefence on the leg side ; too anxious to score quickly , and aslowm a nbetweenthe wickets; ahard-workingbutnot brilliant field . J. T. L. Jenkins (13.4) : Thebest all-round cricketer in the eleven ; very steady bat, and a splendid m a nto send in first ; useful change bowler on a hard wicket , and a splendid point , where he brought off some "gallery " catches . T. H. Griffiths (8.4 ) : Workedvery hard for the team; muchtoo fond of slogging to stay long at the wickets ; hits very hard; bad judge of a run ; a great acquisition as abowler ; varies his pace and pitch with judgment ; safe field as a rule . R. L. Jones (7.7 ) : Wonderfully steady bat at the nets , but failed to do himself justice in matches ,perhaps through nervousness ; useful field but should practise throwing in. A. T. Hone (7.4 ) : Might do m u c h morewith his great reach in smothering balls by forward play ; came out well at times ; cannot keep his length bowling , but sends in good balls when he does . H. Jones (6.1) : A promising cricketer ; should develop his hitting powers and mindnot to send the ball up; did very well behind the wickets , and is a safe catch andfield . R. E. Wright (6) : Very stiff at the wickets,buthas a good idea of forward play; safe field but a slowone. F.M .H o w a r d (4.5): Very little idea of batting ; slogs wildly ; good long field and throws in very well indeed ; would makean excellent change bowler if he took pains . T. Price (2.6) : Weakbat; too casual at his net practise to improve ; good longstop , even on a bad ground. F. R. Nicholls (2.4): Should do well if careful ; made great progress in batting and bowling ; has an easy action and keeps a good length ; safe catch and good field . N.
