Monypenny : A steady bat , always watching the ball carefully ; should becomevery good within the next two or three years he is going to be here ; very slow in the field and between the wickets . R. H. Moore: Avery pretty bat, playing off his legs and forward beautifully , and a neat cut ; lacks poweras yet; a very neat and quick field . P. H. Normand: A clumsy but correct bat, scoring very slowly ; slow and slovenly in the field . * J. A. Simon : A feeble bat at the beginning of the term, but improved towards the end on the faster wickets ; as a wicket -keeper an entire failure . * A. C. Paton: A fast and erratic bowler , occasionally proving successful ; has only two good strokes at batting-a good cut and a pull --but usually shows very badjudgment in using them. *A. C.
