T H EUNIVERSITIESA N DPUBLICSCHOOLSIN 1892. 1 5 7 beautiful stroke on the leg side , and hits well all round ; has taken great pains withhis fielding and has done well, though a slow runner, especially between thewickets . C. Pilkington : Shows great promise all round; bats correctly and firmly ; bowls slow , steadily , and well ; sure to improve in this department . P. Cobbold : Asteady bowler (slow), not often difficult ; did one extraordinary per- formance; a promising bat, very likely to score fifteen but not more at present ; not too quick in the field . *A. M. Grenfell : Has plenty of pluck and perse- verance; muchimproved as a batsman; invaluable in the field ; a tolerable wicket -keeper . H. Bircham : Shows some promise as a batsman , but has faults to overcome ; should improve bynext year ; a slow and insecure field . *H. R. Lee: Occasionally did valuable service with the bat, but his style is neither safe norpolished ; does not addto the fielding strength of the side . *H. G. Robert- son : A plucky wicket -keeper, very good at catches ; not so successful as a stumper; a pitiable bat. H A I L E Y B U R Y C O L L E G E . Captain for 1892 , W. V. Jephson.
