Quinton : A n excellent captain; worked the team well on and off the field ; a hard-hitting batsman, with stubborn defence ; muchless successful as a bowler ; sacrifice accuracy for pace ; energetic field . C. E. Bateman- Champain: A fine outfielder ; met with great success as a batsman except in the school matches ; hits well round the wicket , being especially strong in cutting . C. L. K. Campbell : A steady batsmanwith sure defence ; should attempt to develop some scoring strokes ; a very fair field . F. H. Bateman- Champain : Started the season better than he ended; should have a great future before him, as he is very young, and is even nowa good batsman; is too often caught in the slips ; a very fair point , and slow bowler. B. H. Bignell : A good and stylish batsman, hits well to leg ; still short in his forward reach ; a good and active field . J. W. Stratton : Improved morethan any one during the season ; a steady slow bowler, and very fair bats- m a nwith good forward play; should be a very useful all-round player next year. E. H. B. Stanley : A fair batsman; can hit a bit , but lacks defence ; improved greatly as a field . A. L. Lister : Avery plucky wicket -keeper , stands up to the fastest bowling ; takes slow bowling neatly and well ; a poor bat. H. J. Tucker : A straight fast bowler, with a beautiful action , not very difficult ; fair bat, did well several times at critical moments. F. H. Barker : Fast bowler withsuspicious action ; a slogging batsman; worked very hard to improve him- self . E. L. Cooke- Collis : Steady batsman and fair wicket-keeper ; fields well .
