Surrey , on June 22, Hunter stumped one and caught five Surrey batsmen in the first innings .-Playing for the Royal Artillery Non. Coms. v. G. G. Hearne's Eleven , at Rushey Green ,on Sept. 12, F. J. Bailey performed the feat of stumping three menfrom consecutive balls . C u r i o u sIncidents. A tMelbourne, in March, three brothers McLeodscored between them 508 runs in three different matches on the same day, as follows : R. McLeod135 (not out) for Melbourne v. South Melbourne ; C. McLeod, 169 for Ormond v. Coburg ; andD. McLeod, 204 (not out), for Scotch College v. Geelong GrammarSchool . - T h ebatting figures of C. É. Finlason (South Africa ) for the season 1890-91 , form a record so far as African Cricket is concerned : 36 innings , 1,823 runs , average 62.862 . -During the summerrecess , R. H. Moss (formerly of Oxford University ) played in fourteen important matches for Radley Rangers , M.C.C. and Ground, Huyton, and Liverpool , averaging 25 runs per innings , and securing 74 wickets for 357 runs (average 4.82 per wicket ). In the second innings of Sussex v. Gloucestershire , at Brighton , on June 9, Painter made five catches at short -slip . The Gentlemen's victory over the Players , on July 4, wastheir first at the Oval for ten years .-OnJune 24 at Aigburth, for Liverpool v. Boughton Hill , D. Q. Steel scored 123, and caught five out of six batsmen.-R. S. Lucas 141 (not out) for Old Taylorians v. Merchant Taylor's School , on July 3, included 7 sixes out of the ground , one of these hits smashing a window.--On January 9 and17, cricket matches were played on the ice at Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park, Sussex , respectively . O n February 11, the Sergeants 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards beat the Sergeants Royal Artillery and Engineers , without losing a wicket either time, viz ., 69 no wicket (innings declared ), and 39 no wicket, against 34 and 73. -On M a y6, at Cambridge, the 492 of Emmanuel College v. Peterhouse included 60 extras . On M a y18 and 19 at Darlington , Durhamv. Lincolnshire produced 956 runs for 22 wickets . At the close of the match, Lord Sheffield's Eleven v. M.C.C. and Ground, at Sheffield Park, on M a y25, former's last two menwere at the wicket without a run in hand, having obtained just sufficient to avert an innings defeat . --All 10 batsmen of Reading Temperance (v. Henley Town at Henley ) were caught in the first innings , May 30. On June 20, for St. Peter's , Brighton v. Sheffield Park, at Sheffield Park, E. Newmanmade a leg -hit for twelve off A. Payne . In a match at Brisbane in March , Albert v. Stanley , the latter scored 26 for 8 wickets , all got by A. Coning- ham, whowas not out.-Inmatch in Australia , T. Findlay's Team v. Holgate's College , T. Findlay made six catches in one innings , three " c. and b." and three at short -slip . In a cup tie at Melbourne in March , Ormond v. Coburg , umpire 1
