At Launceston (Tasmania) on Feb. 27 and28, North v. South Tas- mania, 1,187 runs were recorded for 30 wickets . At Johannesburg , Kimberley v. Transvaal (Currie Cup Match), in April , 1,402 runs were scored for 40 wickets. RecordAggregatefor a First -Class English Match. Sussex v. Cambridge University at Brighton (June 18, 19, and 20) produced 1,402 runs, giving an average of 35 per wicket . This beats by63 runs the same match in 1890 , which, strangely enough, was the previous record ; and it also comes within nine runs of the aggregate produced by N e wSouth Wales v. Victoria in 1882. The totals were : Cambridge University , 359 and 366. Sussex , 3 1 4a n d363. High Scoring. In the match Household Brigade v. Bandof Brothers , at Chelsea , on June 13, only 8 wickets fell for 515 runs . In four successive innings during January , 1 6
