A good batsman , with a very pleasing style . SOLBÉ, F. de L. Auseful bat; plays with great confidence . WEIGALL, G. J. V. Abrilliant bat whenset ; not always reliable . WILSON, L. (Tonbridge ). Agood bat, andsplendid field , andrendered good service to his Countyduring the past season ; will play at any time andanywhere. HORNBY, A. N. (Harrow) . Still keeps up his reputation as an invaluable captain , andis as energetic as ever in the field ; hits well , and frequently makes good s c o r e s . KEMBLE, A. T. (Cheltenham ). Very plucky and good wicket -keeper ; did good service for Lancashire throughout the season ; is also a good bat, and fre- quently scores well . LANCASHIRE , O. P. (Rossall and Cambridge ). Aneat and good bat ; does not nowplay for his County. MACLAREN, A. C. (Harrow). An excellent bat, having splendid defence , with plenty of punishing powers ; will no doubt take a prominent place in the t e a m. ROYLE, Rev. V. (Rossall and Oxford). Is still , a good bat, and capital field at cover-point ; plays little first -class cricket now. SMITH, REGINALD (Warrington ). A promising player ; bowls fast right -arm, and is a punishing bat; hits well all round. STEEL , A. G. (Marlborough and Cambridge ). Still excels as an all-round cricketer ; a first -class batsman; good medium-pace bowler, and fair field ; does not play muchfirst -class cricket now. STEEL , H. B. (Uppingham and Cambridge ). A very heavy hitter , dangerous batsman, andseldom leaves the wicket without scoring . M I D D L E S E X . BACMEISTER, L. H. A good straight medium-pace right -hand bowler ; moderate b a ta n dfield. BUCKLAND, E. H. (Marlborough andOxford). Avery good all -round cricketer , being a dangerous bat, useful bowler, and smart field ; does not play first- classcricketn o w. DAUGLISH, M. J. (Harrow and Oxford ) . A fair wicket -keeper , improving bat, andcapital field . FORD, F. G. J. (Repton and Cambridge) . Bats and bowls left -handed; very fine hitter ; good change bowler, andsplendid out-field . H A D O W, E. M. (Harrow) . Agood bat, with great hitting powers ; fair change bowler (fast) ; has improved immensely in fielding . HENERY, P. J. T. (Harrow and Cambridge). Sometimes a very dangerous batsman; good out-field . LUCAS, R. S. (Merchant Taylor's ). Avery promising bat ; brilliant field . LYTTELTON , Hon. ALFRED (Eton and Cambridge ). A very fine wicket -keeper , standing well up, and rarely missing a chance ; a very dangerous batsman , having defence as well as hitting powers ; plays little first -class cricket now. MORDAUNT, H. J. (Eton and Cambridge). A brilliant bat on a fast wicket , anduseful change bowler. ΝEΡΕΑΝ, Ε. A. (Sherborne and Oxford).
