A. Manning : Thestraightest bat of the team; has played several good innings , but has not come up to the club's expectations ; a very good round-hand bowler ; winner of the club's average ball . H. Gee: A very straight bat, with more practice would makea useful m a nto the club . F. Holbrook : A really good bat, played some good innings ; a brilliant and accurate field anywhere; safe catch ; a good mediumround-hand bowler ; has returned to England, where we hope to hear of him again . C. Farrar : Hits hardandpretty straight ; with practice would make a good wicket -keeper . T. Burn: Very fair bat, but rather unfortunate ; with practice would makea good bowler. W. Richards : Fair bat, but too eager to score ; has been very unlucky throughout the season ; good fast bowler with practice . J. Farrar : Batted well for first season ; goodfield . T. Pearson : The slogger of the team, takes the advantage of loose bowling ; very good fast bowler. B. Hoyland : Smart field ; useful memberof the team. H . Blundstone : Played fairly for first season ; rather unfortunate bat through nervousness ; smart field . T. A. Pow- nall, secretary and treasurer : Good and energetic m a n; splendid field and long-stop ; rather unfortunate as a bat ; material for a good left -hand bowler .
