O'C. Tandy (Captain ) : Anexcellent and popular captain ; good bat with fine punishing powers ; splendid field anywhere ; has taken the wicket with some success ; was unfortunately absent during some matches , when his absence was severely felt . R. S. H. Baiss : Avery good bat with sound defence , can also hit well when set ; has always gone in first , and has been very useful in breaking the bowling ; very sharp field (Captain for 1892 ). *S. Kennington : Verygood bat, can hit beautifully clean and hard; has played several dashing innings ; fair change bowler , slow , breaking both ways ; splendid field . *J. M. Marshall : Agood medium-pace left -handbowler; has bornethe brunt of the bowling for the school , and comes out with a very good analysis ; as batsman has occasionally scored well by very free play , can hit well , but wants defence ; smart field . D. Ronald : Avery patient bat with excellent defence , is always difficult to get out , but does not take sufficient advantage of loose balls , especially on the leg side ; would make a very fair fast bowler if he would only practise steadily ; good deep -field . *G. L. Greig : Has not done nearly so well this season as he ought . Can hit well at times , but wants defence ; capital field at point . H. D. Bannon : A very promising bat, plays in good style with a straight bat , and can also hit well ; ought to be very useful next year ; uncertain and rather slow in the field , but is improving fast . K. Clarke : Promises to make a good bowler , right hand , medium pace , has bowled with the worst of luck all through the season ; very fair bat, has been useful in making runs when most wanted ; safe field . C. S. Wood: Avery useful bowler , right hand, medium pace , has improved greatly since the beginning of the season ; fair bat , but uncertain field . *E. K. Le Fleming : Has shown great improvement lately both as bowler andbat ; bowls fast mediumright -hand, and is always useful on a hard wicket : good field . *A. M. Marshall : A very fair bat, can hit well whenset ; has been disappointing as a bowler ; capital field . U P P I N G H A M S C H O O L . Captain for 1891 , T. Westray. Resultsof M a t c h e s .
