1 2 6 LILLYWHITE'SCRICKETERS' A N N U A L K UB E W straight and improving fast bowler, and magnificent field anywhere ; energetic and successful captain . A. C. S. Glover : Played some brilliant innings inthe course of the season , but was singularly unsuccessful in the school matches ; kept wicket fairly throughout , and proved himself a most useful memberof the team. J. M. Young : At times bowled with great success , and could always be trusted to " keep up an end " ; a disappointing bat, and slow field . F. E. Bryant: Improved wonderfully in the field , and saved manyruns at mid- off ; a fair bat, withconsiderable defence; oftengot runsjust w h e nmostwanted. R.L. Sinclair : Undoubtedly one of the most difficult fast bowlers the school has ever had; in his day almost unplayable ; unfortunately tired in the later matches , andwasnot as deadly against the rival schools as had been hoped ; a poor bat , and moderate field . R. B. Hope : Played well at the beginning of the season , butdid not " come on" as muchas was expected ; fair in the field , and may develop into a useful bowler. J. Hewetson : A painstaking and energetic cricketer ; always did his best , and at times was fairly successful . A. Mauds- lay : Acapital field on the off -side , with a good return ; very unsuccessful with thebat, owing, probably , to the slow wickets . J. Robinson : Maderuns against Malvern and Uppingham, but on all other occasions failed signally to answer expectations ; slow in the field . G. H. Busby : With care will develop into a very useful all-round man; bats , bowls, and fields in good style , but at present is wanting in knowledge of the game. H. J. Davenport : Bats in nice style , and has fair defence ; plays tamely as yet, but will probably makea good cricketer ; slowin thefield. R O S S A L L S C H O O L . Captain for 1891 , T. A. Higson.
