Foster : Averydangerous bat, with heaps of confidence ; does not play quite straight on the off side , but times the ball well , and plays it uncommonly hard ; a safe field in the country . *G. A. Mitchell : Has proved an excellent fast bowler , with good delivery , and plenty of spin and variety of pace ; was worth moreruns than he got ; good field . C. H. Ransome : Amost useful member in any school eleven ; stands awkwardly, but has sound defence , and hits very hard and straight , and has proved a great success behind the wickets . T. B. Rhodes : Lost his batting almost entirely till the last match ; ought to have made manymoreruns ; a fine field anywhere, and is very smart behind the wickets . F. W. Romney: Avariable bat ; sometimes plays excellent cricket , at others is stiff and cramped; fair field . W. W. Lowe: A fast bowler , with an excellent delivery , very effective at times , but often erratic ; a very fair field , and hard- hitting bat, with some good strokes . S. R. Hignell : A promising bat, plays hard and straight ; is very apt to be l.b.w .; very fair point . E. H. Nevile : A very useful fast bowler, getting plenty of workon the ball , and varying his pace well ; a moderate bat, and very fair field . *J. C.
