Norman: A brilliant bat at times , hitting wellwhenset ; very good field , and energetic captain ; was unluckily hurt, when playing against Winchester , which incapacitated his playing in both school matches. *G. R. Brewis : Did not fulfil previous expectations ; played two splendid innings against Harrow, but was unlucky during the season ; very good on his legs ; reliable catch . D. H. Forbes : Fast , and dangerous bowler at times ; fallen off since previous year, but wasunlucky in not having a fast wicket to bowl on ; a rash bat ; moderate field . R. A. Studd : A good safe bat, has good strokes all round ; scored consistently through the season ; bowls a little , slow right -hand; a good field . V. R. Hoare : Avery useful all -round player ; sound bat, but not always reliable ; steady mediumbowler ; excellent field any- where. *H. A. Arkwright: Has been indispensable to the team, both in batting and bowling ; always likely to makeruns , but not very sound; good medium- pace bowler , making the ball turn a good deal ; a good field . E. Lane-Fox : Hasbeen successful with the bat ; a useful slow left -hand bowler , though some- whatexpensive ; a slow but safe field . *F. C. France -Hayhurst : A dashing but very uncertain player , very dangerous when set , hitting very hard all round ; safe field . *F. L. Crabtree : A nungainly but useful bat at times ; can bowl a bit, left -handmedium; moderate field . C. H. Northey : Batted well at times , but lacks strokes , is rather apt to play across ; a very fair field . *H. St. G.
