G. Mc- Pherson : Very good wicket -keeper , but gives too many byes ; improved bats- man; hits . *A. H. Holdship : A plucky batsman , fair slow bowler , and first- rate field ; a very useful memberof the eleven ; madeseveral clinking catches in school matches. *A. S. Anton: A fine batsman on a fast wicket ; quite unsuccessful on slow grounds ; played two excellent innings against Wellington ; goodpoint . *R. K. Healing : A good medium-paced bowler (right -hand) ; met with remarkable success on the slow wickets ; promises to become a fine bats- m a n; plays in excellent form. C. B. Champain: Good batsman; much improved ; still lacks strength ; does not utilize his height sufficiently ; poor field . C. L. K. Campbell : Very steady bat; stays in manyminutes for few runs ; carried his bat through the innings against Marlborough ; slow field . *R. C. М. L. Brodhurst : Wouldbe a mostdestructive bowler, if he could only bowl with the same confidence and luck with which he bats ; he has improved in fielding . *H. L. W. Norrington : Madeless advance than hadbeen hoped; he hits hard, but lacks judgment , and his defence is not strong ; he was useful as a wicket- keeper, standing back. *S. D. Corbett : Treats the ball very gently whenhe has to play it, but hits hard , and shows much coolness and self -possession ; his bowlingin is fast and erratic , but was successful on hard ground ; he can field well .
