Smith (Captain ) : A n excellent andbrilliant all -round bat, especially noted for his cutting ; a very good bowler andfield ; has pulled the team together and had a very good season in compari- son with past years ; has been the mainstay of the team. W. W. Greenkill : A good fast right -handbowler ; has not done muchin the batting line ; fair field . *G. S. Wilson : Agood, but not very reliable bat ; hits well when set ; always smart in the field . *H. A. Merriman: Has been disappointing both in batting andbowling this season ; a very good deep field , has saved a lot of runs . Gardiner : A good steady bat , but rather lacking hitting powers ; very useful as G .A .
