C. Fegan (Captain ) : Powerful hitter , timid in defence ; very good field ; unable to play much. F. J. Nicholls : Good bat and bowler , but very unlucky ; splendid field anywhere . H. Roughton : Has quite recovered his old form; a most consistent scorer ; fair fast bowler ; good field . H. Wilcox : Fell off in bowling at the beginning of the season , but improved greatly later on ; poor bat and field . A. E. Elliott : Goodsteady bat, with stubborn defence , and moderate change bowler ; slow in the field . J. Sanger : Not so successful behind the wickets as last year ; hard hitter . C. H. Tovey : A useful bat, with his own style ; fair slow bowler ; very keen field . T. L. Jackson : Has improved wonderfully in batting ; good field at point . C. Moore: A steady bat, hitting hard whenset ; slow field . J. J. Robinson : Very successful bat early in the season , but was handicapped by the slow wickets ; fair field , and moderate change bowler.
