Weigall : A pretty bat, with good defence andhitting powers, his cutting and driving being especially brilliant ; a smart field at point , anda useful change bowler; as captain has showna thorough knowledge of the game. A. D. Alderson : Has been unfortunate in not scoring more, being a fine free bat and a very fine leg -hitter ; has kept wicket admir- ably, considering this is his first attempt . E. C. Arnold : Has quite shown, in thefewinnings he played, his old form; hits well all round, and has lost his flourish ; can bowl . E. E. Bryant : Has played some very useful innings in good style ; rather lazy in the field . A. C. Clapin : W h e nable to play has bowledwith success ; a useful hitter and smart field . M. C. Bolton : Fair bat, with pretty style ; quick but erratic field . R. P. Wilson : A painstaking cricketer , with fair defence ; poor field . R. S. Fyffe : Has played some very useful innings , being a good hitter ; moderate field . B. Auden : Avery fair bat,w h owouldscore more if he did not begin hitting too soon; a good slow bowler, using his head well ; a brilliant field . W. J. Pike: A most useful m a n, beinga fine free bat andreally good fast bowler ; unfortunate in not being able toplay more often . W. C. Collins : A good bat and steady mediumbowler ; rather slow in the field . W. J. Beaumont : A fair bat, with good defence ; un- certain field , though smart at times .
