BRAYBROOKE , H. M. A promising batsman ; played with great confidence in the one match in which he played for Kent. CHRISTOPHERSON , S. (Uppingham). A fast round -arm bowler ; moderate bat, with good hitting powers ; played in two matches only last year. DAFFEN, A. Asteady batsman, with good defence , and safe field ; played for K e n tfor thefirst timelast season. Fox, C. J. M. ( Westminster ). A very careful batsmen, scored consistently throughout the season ; watches the ball , and can hit freely whenset ; a useful change bowler, and safe field . HAMILTON, L. A. (Tonbridge). A fine batsman, hitting brilliantly whenset ; played for his County for the first time last season , and with the best results. KEMP, M. C. (Harrowand Oxford) . A good bat, and first -class wicket -keeper ; only able to play in the later Countymatches . L EFLEMING, J. (Tonbridge and Cambridge). Agood bat and field . MARCHANT, F. (Eton and Cambridge ). A good bat and field ; a very fast run- getter when set ; and on several occasions scored well , hitting in brilliant style. MITCHELL, C. Scored well for his club-the Crystal Palace-but was unfor- tunate in not coming off whenplaying for the County. PATTERSON, W. H. (Harrowand Oxford) . Almost, if not quite , the most careful andpainstaking bat of the day; good field ; can bowla little ; was again of the greatest assistance to the County. WILSON, Rev. C. (Tonbridge and Cambridge) . Fine bat, playing very hard on the ball ; played but little last season . WILSON, L. (Tonbridge ) . A really good bat ; scored consistently well all through the season ; an exceedingly good field . L A N C A S H I R E . ECCLES, J. A nexcellent bat, and good field ; was not available last season . CROSFIELD, S. M. A good bat, and splendid field , but singularly unfortunate in run-getting ; will play at any time and anywhere. HORNBY, A. N. (Harrow). Keeps up his reputation as an invaluable captain , andis as energetic as ever in the field ; still hits well , andfrequently makes goodscores . JOWETT, G. Agood bat and field ; business engagements prevent him giving his services to his County. KEMBLE, A. T. (Cheltenham). Very plucky and good batsman; a good wicket- keeper, stands up well. LANCASHIRE, O. P. (Rossall and Cambridge). A neat and hard-working cricketer ; plays in good form, and drives well to the off ; good field . MACLAREN, A. C. (Harrow) . A most promising young player ; splendid defence and good punishing powers ; very smart in the field .
