Heppenstall (5.8 ) : Bats prettily and with dash; when he gets strong should develop into a good all -round cricketer . W. E. Souter (5.2) : Hits well on the on-side ; a very safe catch . W. R. Gramshaw (5.0 ) : Bowled on the whole exceedingly well , though at times erratic; often madea useful stand for the last wicket. A. Baines : Poorbat a n dfield . Mr. H. A. Davis (4.8 ) : Bats steadily and straight , though without much power ; a safe catch . J. M. Trimmer (3.1): Astiff but plucky bat; has proved himself invaluable to the team on several occasions . E. Ll. Jones (3.10 ): Plays with a very straight bat, but is not strong enough to be very effective ; has done well behind the wickets . Bellingham (3):Is too fond of running away from his wicket to make a goodbat; fair mediumbowler . Adams(4.11 ): Afair bat hits well to leg and the on ; slack in the field . R. S. Alston (2.3) : Aleft -handbat with fair defence but no hitting power. W. W. Green (2.3 ): Apromising bat and a good field . T. L. Jenkins (10) : Bats in perfect style , andin timewill makea good cricketer . A. P. G. Evanson (2.1 ) : Hits hard ; makesno attempt at defence ; anexcellent thrower. RydalMountSchool, ColwynB a y, N. Wales.- M r. E. P. Gaskin (7.33 ) : A fine free bat , with an attractive style , can punish any loose bowling tremendously ; a good medium-pace bowler with a curl from leg ; sets a splendid example in the field byhis energy and smartness . Mr. J. G. F. Nicholson (22.66 ): Has been the mainstay of the team on several occasions ; rarely fails to score heavily ; has very strong defence , but at the same time his hit- ting is always hard and clean , especially on the off ; an excellent wicket -keeper ,particularly good stumper . G. F. A. Osborn , Captain (9.66 ) : Avery sound , safe bat ,with much improved style ; can hit all round the wicket , but scarcely punishes a loose ball severely enough ; has become the best bowler in the team, having capital length ; smart active field ; thoroughly keen in every department . J. S. Highfield (6.83): Has come on wonderfully in his batting , and plays in vigorous determined style ; as a bowler has not altogether fulfilled expectations , lacking resource whengetting hit . C. Atkinson (4.16 ) : Hasnot made runs this season , pro- bably through over -anxiety to score , but is a stylish and correct bat,hitting remarkably well on the leg -side ; bowls in promising style with a good pace . M. Remfry (15) : A very difficult wicket to get when he plays in his true form , and has somewhat emerged from his proverbial cloud of ill -luck ; can bowl ; willing field , but somewhat deficient in this respect . F. H. Whitehouse (2) : Aplucky bat , though too small to have much hitting power ; very fair change bowler , but apt to be short ; poor field , his picking up being atrocious . E.
