Loraine (21.6): Agood straight bat, scoring well on the off -side ; good point ; has taken wicket with success . T. M. C. Hunt(22.5 ) : Agood, fast bowler ,andas abat has improved more than any memberof the team; fine field , and safe catch . H. P. G. Maule(13.11 ): Has improved very m u c has a bat, his off-drive being especially good; clumsy field . F. C. Justice (8.9) : Apro- mising bat ; has proved of good service on more than one occasion ; fair field ; captain , 1891. F. W. Potter (6.5 ) : A good , steady , medium -pace bowler ; promising bat, but should punish loose bowling more. L. Gastrell (7.5): Afair left -handmedium-pace bowler ; fair bat,drives hardonthe off . H. Gray, Captain (18.78 ) : Agood run-getter , but rather ugly in style ; plays with a straight bat,and is steady in an emergency ; a good field ; very keen'cricketer all round; first -rate captain . H. Hicks (17): Very taking bat, especially strong on the off-side ; hits very cleanly , andhasstrong defence ; also good field ; fair bowler ; athorough cricketer all round. H. Cobb (11.76): Plays forward well; good style ; accurate bat; fair field ; slow bowler, with off-break. L. Marsh-Browne(10.19 ): Left-handed slow bowler , with break either way; should be heard of inthe future , as his pitch is good, and he is very deadly ; needs to vary his pace more; fair bat; goodfield . R. Buckwell (9.96 ) : Fast right -handbowler , with off -break ;at times slovenly inpitch ,but generally good; fair and steady bat . E. Hicks (6.3 ) : Left -handed bowler, very effective , with good leg-break ; candrive well to the on, but did not do so well in batting as his practice shows he is capable of. R. Marsh-Browne (11.25 ): Did not play in manymatches, too indifferent ; otherwise could dowell all round. H. Handcock (8): A nobstinate sticker ; ugly, cramped style , improved during the season ; bowls a good length ball ; catches well , but movements slow . C. Cherry (6.5): Anxious and developing . G.
