Howard: Has been very disappointing as abatsman, andis far too slow in playing at the ball ; anexcellent field at cover -point ,andasafe catch . *L. S. Ken- nedy: Hasgreatly improved in batting , andis avery good hitter , especially on the on-side, though apt to throw awayhis wicket by playing across at straight balls ; a slow field ,but a very fair slow bowler ,though seldom required . *A. R. H. Skey : Avery good left -handbowler, slowmediumwithbreak from leg, andas he always keeps a good length , requires very careful watching; a good, correct bat, although very unlucky in matches ; a slow but sure field . *E. G. Fleming : Astrong bat, withgood hitting powers and pretty cut ; played several very useful innings ; a most energetic field , always doing his best-in this department was of im- menseservice to the team. F. D. Browne: Hasbeen very disappointing as a bat, having a verybadhabit of drawing awayfrom fast bowling , but is sure to come on again next season ; is still a slow field at point , and an uncertain catch; did not practise enough at the nets. S. Douglas: Abatsmanof great promise ,always playing correct cricket ; cuts well anddrives hardonthe off -side ; played manygood innings ,and frequently made a stand at a critical point of the game: a painstaking field at short -slip . N. Miller : A good, steady bat, with plenty of nerve, andespecially useful on awet wicket , as hewatches the ball very carefully ; is alittle too inclined to pull straight balls ; agood field , but must practise throwing in at the wicket; will be very useful next year. *G. A. Chapronière : Agood bat, playing very hard on the on-side , and useful change-bowler (fast right -hand), but whenfielding should apply his attention strictly to the game.
