Dixon (Captain) : Ascaptain has given uni- versal satisfaction throughout a successful season ; a fine bat, having a splendid defence , hitting very hard when set , especially on the off side ; a safe catch any- where, has never been seen to miss onein the long field . *R. L. Leigh-Clare : A good fast bowler , with high delivery , coming very quick off the pitch ; a very fair bat , has improved greatly upon his form shown last year, but should learn to play forward , a good all-round field . A. W. F. Rutty: A fair slow bowler, getting a good break from the off ; as a bat has not come up to expectations , but at times shows good form; slow in the field . W. J. Lambert : Avery steady bat, always watching the ball , having splendid defensive powers, has been of great service to the team in this department ; we expect great things of himnext year. *E. D. Swanwick : A fair change bowler ; as a bat somewhat uncertain , having good hitting powers, but should be more steady until set ; a good out- field , returning the ball splendidly . * T. D. Stanger - Leathes : Afair bat, showedgreat promise at the beginning of the season , but fell off towards the end ; a very fair out-field . H. C. Buckmaster : A very fair wicket -keeper , at times being excер- tionally brilliant ; as a bat has improved greatly , and ought to be of good service to the teamnext year. G .M . Carey: A sa bowlerandbathasnotc o m eo nas expected ; a good field . W. H. Randolph : A moderate bat, with fair forward stroke , but with no idea of playing back; a very fair point . T. C. Rogerson : A steady medium-paced bowler, keeping a fair length ; a poor bat ; a good catch in the long-field . P. D. Hunter : Afair left -hand bowler, having a good delivery , but somewhaterratic , should pay more attention to his pitch ; a promising m a n for nextseason. S H R E W S B U R Y S C H O O L .
