Higson : A very good bat, with sound defence, and hitting well at times ; disappointed us rather in the middle of the season , but came on towards the end ; has fulfilled the difficult post of captain well . F. A. Phillips : Very good bat, with a pretty style , seldom failing to score ; a very good medium-pace bowler , with plenty of break ; smart field . *E. Hind: Agood straight bat, though unfortunate ; hard-working field . *W. B. Bell : Hascomeon wonderfully as a bat, playing straight andhard; a good useful fast bowler , with a good slow ball ; rather casual field . *P. C. Phillips : Goodhard-hitting bat ; asafe though slow field . *E. C. Brierley : Unfortunately has been awaymost of the season ; good bat ; fair bowler, though soon getting flurried ; good field . *C. G. Lees : Avery good hard -hitting bat, and has come onwell lately ; good wicket -keeper , standing up well. E. Roberts : Goodbat, though rather awkwardin style ; good wicket -keeper, having come on well since last year. *F. E. Shuttleworth : Good bat, with both style and good hitting powers ; good field . *W. P. Toone : Goodbat, though rather inclined to hit ; a most beautiful field at cover-point , picking up and throwing in well. *H.
