1 5 6 LILLYWHITE'SCRICKETERS' ANNUAL, Has been again very successful as a lob bowler ; as a bat is improved , and has played one or two useful innings , but he is still very stiff on leg side ; a very good short -slip . E. Y. Orlebar : Has improved as a bowler, though he is rather erratic in pitch ; a very good field with capital return when he likes ; has dis- appointed us as a bat ; has no defence . E. W. H. Theobald : Amuchimproved bat with a very fine stroke on the off ; is better on his legs , but still rather a w k w a r d; rather slow in the field . C. H. Palmer: H a scomeona lot with the bat; a very good field and a moderate bowler. *F. G. Trollope : Has rather disappointed us as a bat ; is a fair field . A. H. Jeffreys : Hasa good stroke to off,but is bad on his legs ; is a very poor judge of a run , and a very slow field . C. C.
