Fisher : A n energetic Captain and promising cricketer ; a strong and free batsman ; good over -hand bowler , and very fair point . C. O. Bennett : An aggressive and effective bat , especially early in the season ; successful at times in bowling , with a good break , but lacks precision ; good field . P. B. Hancock : A good steady bat; fair field , and occasionally bowls. *G. C. Causton : A steady and trustworthy bat, with some defensive power and good nerve ; somewhat deliberate in the field . *F. H. Willis : A useful bowler , and may improve ; very respectable short -slip , and fair bat . W. V. Jephson : Apromising wicket -keeper ; fair bat . L. Woodhouse : Avery fair bowler , good field , and bats in a style of his own. D. M. Bartlett : Promises very well with the bat, and has frequently scored ; must learn agility in the field . J. B. Eastley : Has been very useful with the bat, and will be more so whenhe learns to judge a run ; a respectable field . G. H. Lushington : A fair medium-paced bowler , and often contributes some runs in not very correct style . M. S. Ware: A respectable performer in the three chief departments of thegame.
