McGregor (Captain ) : Needs no praise , although mention must be made of his grand wicket -keeping , run-getting , and good generalship . W. J. Rowell : Batted even better than last year, and wasnot so slack in the field . A. G. Henfrey : Again scored well, and fielded at times most brilliantly . N. C. Cooper : Succeeded in keeping up his Brighton College reputa- tion; his style is good, reminding one of T o mHaywardof days goneby. A. G.Stubbs : Although batting in a style all his own, made a lot of runs . S. M. J. Woods : Played very little for his College , being captain of the 'Varsity , and also owing to having injured himself in the match against the Magpies . W. М. Scott : Wasnot quite in such good form as anticipated , but succeeded in getting runs whenreally wanted. A. J. L. Hill : Asterling cricketer . R. O. Crawford : Oneof the best leg -hitters in the College for years , had a lot of bad luck , and seemed to want practice . H. Menzies : Kept wicket well when his captain was absent , and also batted well , but still lacks confidence . The bowling was shared bya few ; but mention must be made of Mr. Dale , although not in the eleven , as being a very painstaking all -round cricketer .
