This system of stringing of course adds somewhat to the first cost of the Racquet, as more gut and extra labour are required , but the results obtained well repay the extra cost , and effect a saving in the long run , in addition to producing a muchmore effective Racquet. J. L. F. & Co. have lately introduced into some of their best Racquets an improvement of muchvalue ,consisting of a solid cane, walnut , or other hard-woodhandle spliced into the ash (after the mannerof a cricket bat handle ) and turned to a comfortable pattern with abutton atthe end.
