Duringthe late season has batted as well as ever ; splendid field . HARE, J. H. M. (Uppingham and Oxford ). Has a stubborn defence ; good field . HOARE, W. R. (Eton). Very good field , and improving bat. HOLLEY, E. Goodmediumleft -handbowler; likely to prove of great value . JARVIS , C. J. E (Harrow) . Good bat when in form ; bowls well on his day, a n dsplendid field . JARVIS , F. W. (Harrow). Bats in perfect style , but should improve his defence . JARVIS, L. K. E. (Harrow). Avery good bat, with a brilliant forward cut ; capital field anywhere; has done muchfor County cricket . ORAMS, E. (Clifton ). A nexceedingly promising cricketer . H ewill do well to keep as muchas possible to good class cricket . RAIKES, E. B. (Wellington and Oxford ). Very good slow bowler ; he has unfortunately left to reside in India. RIX, W. A. Useful change bowler . WICKHAM, Rev. A. P. (Wellington and Oxford ). Kept the wicket as well as ever this year ; useful bat at a critical time ; after next season he will lose his qualification for Norfolk . N O R T H A M P T O N S H I R . BEALE, T. G. Excellent slow and mediumbowler ; fair bat and field ; played very seldom GULLIVER, G. J. KINGSTON , C. A. last season , and bowling muchmissed . Dashing and, whenset, brilliant bat ; fair field . First season with County; place in team well earned by very steady batting and capital fielding . KINGSTON , J. P. An excellent all -round cricketer ; capital bat ; good slow bowler ; excellent point ; played very seldom. TURNER, J. Steady bat, with sound defence ; good field . WELCH , T. H. G. Capital bat ; excellent field anywhere ; took the dificult part of " skipper " in 1889 to the general satisfaction . S O M E R S E T S H I R E . BASTARD ,E. W.(Sherborne and Oxford ). On his true form a first -class bowler- slow left , with great command over the ball ; not so successful last year , probably owing to want of practice in good matches . CHALLEN, J. B. Hits hard all round, but is rather too anxious to score ; very quickandsafe in the field . CLAPP, A. E. Fine bat, hitting well to leg, and has scored well this season ; good field awayfrom the wicket. HEWETT, H. T. (Harrow and Oxford ). Captain in 1889 ; a dangerous left -hand bat, very free , but somewhatuncertain ; good point .
