Very fine all -round cricketer ; very seldom plays for County. K E N T . CHRISTOPHERSON , S. (Uppingham) . Avery successful fast round -arm bowler ; moderate bat, with good hitting powers ; owing to an injury to his arm wasunable to play last year. Fox, C. J. M. (Westminster ). Agreat acquisition to the County; batted well throughout , and generally scored well ; watches the ball , and can hit freely w h e nset ; a useful change bowler, and safe field . HARRIS, Lord (Eton and Oxford). A fine bat, playing in excellent style , and T O Yhitting with great freedom ; only played at the end of the season owing to Parliamentary duties ; his appointment to the Governorship of Bombay is agreat loss to Kentcricket . K E M P, M. C. (Harrowand Oxford) . A good bat, andfirst -class wicket -keeper ; played only in the later County matches . L EFLEMING, J. (Tonbridge and Cambridge). Agood bat and field . MARCHANT, F. (Eton and Cambridge ) . Agood bat and field ; a very fast run- 10 getter whenset ; andon several occasions scored well , hitting in brilliant style. PATTERSON, W. H. (Harrow and Oxford ). Almost , if not quite , the most careful and painstaking bat of the day ; good field ; can bowl a little ; was again of the greatest assistance to the County. THORNTON, Rev. R. T. (Oxford). Bats in peculiar form, but a difficult wicket to get ; good field ; did not play for the County last season . TONGE, J. N. (Cheltenham ). A careful bat, with good defence ; good field , anduseful bowler. WILSON, Rev. C. (Tonbridge and Cambridge ). Fine bat, playing very hard on the ball ; played but little last season . WILSON, L. Areally good bat; scored consistently well in the few matches in whichhe took part ; played two fine innings against Notts at Nottingham; an exceedingly good field . RASHLEIGH , W. (Oxford ). Plays for Kent. L A N C A S H I R E . ECCLES, J. An excellent bat, and good field ; was not so successful last season as in two previous years . CROSFIELD, S. M. A good bat, and splendid field , but singularly unfortunate in run-getting ; will play at any time and anywhere. HORNBY, A. N. (Harrow). Keeps up his reputation as an invaluable captain , andis as energetic as ever in the field ; still hits well , and frequently makes goodscores . JOWETT, G. Agood bat and field ; business engagements prevent himgiving his services to his County. LANCASHIRE , O. P. (Rossall and Cambridge ). A neat and hard -working cricketer ; plays in good form, and drives well to the off ; good field . LEIGH, J. A very good bat and field . NAPIER , Rev. J. R. (Marlborough and Cambridge ). A good fast bowler ; fair bat, and quick run-getter ; unfortunately not able to play much for the County.
