Founded April , 1885. -Members , 57 ; colours , red and white ; ground , behind the Ryks Museum; Hon. Sec ., Mr. B. A. Roodenburch , 18, Lelie- gracht , Amsterdam; Captain , Mr. W. F. Proost . Last year the club played seven matches ; 4 won, 3 lost , of which 2 against English elevens . 2.-HaarlemscheC.C. , " R o o dand Wit." Founded June 22, 1881. -Members , 102 ; colours , red and white ; ground , Haarlem (Frederikspark ) nearest railway station , only one , at twenty minutes ; Hon. Sec . , Mr. J. Tuymelaar , 18, Kenaupark , Haarlem ; Captain , Mr. C. J. Posthuma . Last year the club played 7 matches : 3 won, 4 lost , of which 2 against English elevens . 3.-Utrechtsche Studenten C. and F.C., " Sphaerinda." Founded April 26, 1882. -Members , 91 ; Hon. Sec ., Mr. F. C. Hekmeyer , 77, Weistraat , Utrecht. 4.-Utrechtsche C.C. , " Hercules. " FoundedApril 29, 1882.-Members28 ; ground, near the Staats -Spoorweg railway station . Hon. Sec . Mr. L. van Erp Taalman Kip, 338 , van Wyck- skade , Utrecht . 5.-Utrechtsche Cricketers vereeniguy, " Concordia." Founded January 28, 1889 .-- Members , 17 ; Hon . Sec ., Mr. C. L. Kooiman, Driebergen. Besides these , the most important of Dutch clubs , about thirty others are in existence. C H A P T E R V I I. Amatchis played betweentwosides of eleven players each , unless otherwise agreed to ; each side has two innings , taken alternately , except in the case provided for in Law54. The choice of innings shall be decided bytossing . R U N S. 2. T h escore shall be reckoned b yruns. A runis scored :-1st. So often as the batsmen after a hit , or at anytime while the ball is in play, shall have crossed andmadegood their ground from end to end. 2nd. For penalties under Laws 16, 34, 41, and allowances under 44. Anyrun or runs so scored shall be duly recorded by scorers appointed for the purpose . The side which scores the greatest numberof runs wins the match. N omatch is wonunless played out or given up, except in the case provided for in L a w45. Α Ρ Ρ Ο Ι Ν Τ Μ E N T O F U M P I R E S . 3. Before the commencementof the matchtwoumpires shall be appointed , one for eache n d. T H EB A L L . 4. Theball shall weigh not less than five ounces anda half , normorethan five ounces and three -quarters .
