J. L. Bury (13.2 ) : A careful batsman , with capital style ; hits very clean andhard,and seldom misses a chance of scoring ; is also a very fair right -hand bowler,withbreak from the off , but must study his length more; a good field . A. N. Guy(9.9 ): Batsin fairly good form,hitting well onthe onside , andcuts well ; very useful as a left -hand changebowler ,and is an excellent field . L. G. Humphery (18.5 ): Generally safe for runs ,bats ingoodstyle ,andhits with plenty of freedom ; is a very fair medium right -hand bowler with break from leg,and rarely fails to get wickets ; a safe field . P. W. Parry (5.3 ) : Bats in fair style ,makes very good strokes at times , and hits hard , but is rather too stiff ; keeps wicket in pretty goodform,has madeseveral good catches in that position ; a moderate field . А. Н. Smith (21.5): A fine defensive batsman , playing forward exceedingly well , and hits well all round; can play a good up-hill game; a poor field ; useful as a change bowler . H. W. S. Lowndes (5.1): Agoodfast bowler ,right -handwith break from the off , bowls a splendid ball occasionally ; canbat and field fairly . R. H. Foy (16): Animproving bat,plays in capital style; canplay forward andcut finely ; bids fair to be a good medium-pace bowler with plenty ofbreak; can field well ; avery promising all-round player . A. G. Faber (5.4) : A promising bat,plays steadily and straight , hits well to leg ; bowls right -hand with agood action ,but must improve inhis length ; acapital field in the " country ." E. B. Alexander (10.3 ): Canbat fairly well,with good style , and fields well at point ; with pains will make a good cricketer . W. A. Morrison (12.2 ): Bats in fair style ,has a capital defence ,but scores very slowly , wants to put morepower in his strokes andhit oftener ; also keeps wicket in very good form; a moderate field. White (10.1 ) : Agood bat, but should stand nearer his wickets ; cuts splendidly ; a very good cover -point ; would bowl better if he attended more to his pitch and less to his break (captain for 1890 ). J. S. Cuming (7.9 ) : Has gone off greatly as a bat , though hehasplayed one or two good innings ; has improved as a field , but should be quicker after the ball ; auseful bowler . H. Rudge (16.9 ): Avery good bat, with great hitting powers ; a certain catch inthe long field , and bowls well with his head ; has proved invaluable . L. A. Williams (3.12): Agood bat,but was rather unlucky ; can bowl a little ; a very good field , throwing in well,butwhenclose in should return the ball quicker . R. E. Leake (5.7): A good medium- pacebowler ,having a good break back ; hits too much to bat well ; a fair field and a good catch . Hasbeen amost useful acquisition to the eleven . T. Cranston (3.8 ) Has kept wicket withmoderate success ; a fair bat, but should play the ball a great deal harder . F. Henry (5.1): Avery erratic left -hand bowler ; should try to pitch his balls better ; a good field close in,whenawake ; apoor bat . H. Croft (2) : Has not come off as a bat , should play straighter andplay forward more; agood field . C. Armitage (6.3 ) : Avery steady bat, with good defence ; must learn toscere on the off side ; a good field at short log . H. C. Stillingfleet (3.4 ) : Amode- rate bat, with agood forward stroke ; must learn to play ayorker and play back more ; a good field ifhewere quicker ; a poor catch.
