DerbySchool. Captain , Raymond O. Jourdain ; Hon. Sec ., G. A. R. Groves .-R. O. Jourdain (8.6): Amost energetic captain ,working hard for the success of his team; hardly as successful with the bat as wasexpected , but at times a most dangerous bowler . E. E. Dorling (5.1): Whenonce set, a most careful and reliable bat, but should punish loose balls more; a moderate change bowler ; should work harder in the field . L. J. Fuller (6) : On his daya mostdangerous though unscientific hitter ; a safe field at cover -point , but usually kept wicket . W. A. Weston (7.5): Was unable to play but seldom ; a free -hitting bat; a useful change bowler ,and a safe field . J. Horsley (4.5 ) : A most successful bowler , medium paced , but at times sendingd o w nafast ball; wasquite unsuccessful as a bat, butworkedhard inthefield . S. R. Osborne (3.1 ) : A thorough " Stonewaller ," and deserving of afar better average ; at times defied all bowlingfor a longtime, andwassevere o nall loose balls ; a mostconscientious field . C. Biddle (5.8) : Unfortunately his services were not always available ; a very good medium bowler, with a puzzling action ; a useful though fluky bat , and a sound field . H. W. Tories (3.2): A fair bat, but wanting in freedom ; is slow in the field . G. W. Oldham(4.1 ) : At times kept wicket well , and was a good field anywhere ; a fair bat. F. M. Gilbert (3.7 ) : Did not nearly come up to expectations ; was a disappointing bat , and as a bowler was not much
