Case (Captain) : Hascaptained the teamadmirably during the whole season ; is a fine bat, with unlimited patience andconsiderable powers of punishing loose bowling, especially onhis leg ; good field . * V. T. Hill : Thebest all-round cricketer in the team; a good bowler on his day, but too fond of trying head balls ; a fine bat, though rather inclined to start hitting before he is set ; very good field , especially at short -slip . *С. W. Little : A splendid wicket -keeper , rarely missing a chance ; a very good bat, with fine hitting powers all round , especially excelling in cutting . *A. Н. С. Barker: Avery fine bat, particularly on the off , where his driving and cutting are admirable ; a magnificent field anywhere , with a very safe pair of hands. A. J. Boger : Very good slow bowler , with a good off -break and plenty of variety in pace ; a safe , though rather slow field ; as a bat, went in too late to dohimself justice , as he wasseveral times " not out; " captain for 1890. *E. J. Neve : Afine free bat, though rather too keen to makeruns when he first goes in ; a splendid field at cover -point , never missing a catch ; can bowl if wanted. B. J. B. Stephens : A nadmirable wicket -keeper , rarely letting any- thing past him; very good field anywhere ; safe catch ; bowls a good ball on a fast wicket ; as a bat , was very disappointing . F. Leveson -Gower : Agood bat onanywicket, as he watches the ball very carefully ; ought to makea very fine bat next year; fine field at point. B. L. Richmond: A safe bat, with great patience , though rather nervous at starting ; slow field , but very fair catch . C. Wigram: Auseful all -round cricketer , being a fair bat, good, useful medium- pacebowler, and safe field . *E. M.
