R. Bromley Davenport : Developed into an excellent batsman , with plenty of pluck , and was to be depended on in an emergency ; has hardly fulfilled his promise as a bowler , but was often useful . *H o n. Studd : A very alarming bowler , and on his day destructive ; in batting is not yet to be relied on, but ought soon to be first -rate , as he possesses grandhitting powers and ahugereach. R. T. Jones : A sound cricketer all round, who, with more briskness and dash, ought to be a very useful m a n. Hon. R. A. Ward: A very uncertain performer in all departments of the game, but mayyet become agoodbatsman . *Hon. J. H. Ward: An excellent and very steady bowler ; slow left -hand. G. B.
