Barker : Hasbowled very steadily , but is blessed with little luck; is a very hard-hitting bat, especially to the on-side , but has latterly learnt to cut very well . *F. R. Meade : Very good bat, scores very fast , his cutting is very good, and he can also pull short ones well ; good field , andsafe catch in the country . *M. H. Stanbrough : Failed to comeoff at all in thebeginning of the season , but has lately played very well ; is a splendid field , withvery quick return , and a safe catch ; is a somewhat erratic bowler, but frequently gets wickets . C. H. King: A really good wicket -keeper , but has beengreatly handicapped by a badhand; in batting has a style of his own, but is sometimes a difficult m a nto get out . *B. W. Holman: Thebest bowler in the team, especially on ahard wicket ; bowls medium pace , and has a very good yorker ; is improving as a bat , but must learn to hit . *N. F. Shaw : Very steady bat; always in a long time for his runs ; fair field , and can keep wicket w h e nrequired . G. O. Smith : Amost promising bat, hits especially well to leg, butmustlearn not to try and hit straight balls in that direction ; steady bowler, andsmart field ; should be very good next year. *J. G. Woodhouse : Splendid field at point , and fair medium-pace bowler ; bats well in practice , but has not comeoff in matches . *J. D.
