Wilson : A very straight and steady medium-pace bowler , especially deadly against small boys ; slogs all bowling with determination , success , and a noble impartiality ; an excellent captain . F. Yardley : The veteran of the team; a really good hard-hitting bat, but fre- quently throws awayhis wicket from impatience ; bowls very fast , regardless ofpoint and short leg ; a splendid field . R. H. Ferard : Muchthe most success- ful batsmanin the team, hits well all round the wicket , and scores rapidly ; once delivered a n over. R .F. C. de Winton: His onerous duties as h o n. secretary had an evident effect uponhis average ; tried wicket -keeping without signal success ; would be a splendid bowler if he only got wickets . G.R. Theobald : A muchimproving medium-pace bowler ; frequently proved an effective change ; pretty, but unsuccessful , batsman; very energetic in the field . C. T. Smith : Aneat and effective left -hand batsman , with agood stroke off his legs ; bowls straight and short , and occasionally gets a wicket with along hop ; excellent field at point . A. W. Fox : Good, but unreliable , batsman ; likely to improve ; plays very good cricket when set ; a moderate field ; no bowler . H. Malins ;
