It is worthy of remark that Guy's won the inter- hospital challenge cup this season for the fifth year in succession . F. Colclough , Cap- tain (68.1) : A steady bat, scoring fast on hard wickets, principally through his off strokes ; uncertain field ; good at times ; very quick on his legs . J. C. Shenton (91.1 ) : By far the best batintheteam, scoring very quickly on all sides ; punishesloose bowling, andhas the happy knackof pulling a short ball to the boundary ; reliable field , and can take the wicket . Η. Α. Smith(42.1): Neatandsteady bat; usually in a long time for his runs; good in the field at times ,but inclined to be slack . J. H. Roberts (13.3 ) : Goodleft -handed bat,but has been un- lucky throughoutthe season; brilliant field at slip occasionally , but by no meanssafe ; fair changebowler,with balking delivery . E. J. D. Mitchell (6.2) : Has fallen off considerably in his batting ,but improved wonderfully in his bowling ; keeps a good length , anddoes not easily tire; comesfast off the pitch ; hehasbornethe brunt of the bowling,with great success ; a brilliant field , with smartreturn. W .G. Mitchell (7.2) : Hard-hitting left -handedbat; a fast erratic bowler, at times very destructive , but too often off colour; a smartfield whenh e likes . J. H. Busteed(7) : A steady bat, with a style of his o w n; cameon a lot towardsthe end of the season ; a plucky and original wicket -keeper . G. Featherstone (12.2 ) : Bats in capital style , but does not take advantage of his height ; an energetic and hard-working field inthe country , andgood anywhere . T. S. Jackson (14.3 ): Bats in his ownfashion ; a plucky and smart point . H.B. Rygate (15): Very poor bat ; steady slow bowler, and was very suc. cessful in the cup ties ; a clumsy field . T. H. B. Yorath (5.1) : Knows how to bat,but from wantof practice did not give himself a chance ; a fair change bowler ; a fair field , but rather s l o w. (10.1):Is invaluable to his team in all departments of the game; a fine bat, and plays the patient andthe hitting gamewith equal effect ; still one of themainstaysas a bowler, but washardlyso effective last season-1 4 wickets , average 7.2. J. T. Brown(78.1) : Splendidall-roundm a n; hasimmenselyimprovedasa bat,havingm u c h moreconfidence; bowls slowround, with considerable break, andis a sure field anywhere; was only able to assist the team in the last three matches-1 5wickets , average 2.12 . M. Dickinson (20.9 ): Avery good andreliable bat , and showed his best form last year , scoring largely through the season ; much improved as a wicket -keeper . F. Berry (19.1 ) : A serious illness prevented his taking part in mostof the matches,buthis formas ahard-hitting anddangerousbat showed no falling off ; has generally kept wicket , but useful anywhere in thefield . H. White (10.3 ) : Aplucky cricketer of the unorthodox style ; mayimprove as a fast bowler . J. Holliday (10.1 ) : Ahard-hitting bat, and scored well in the earlier part of the season . E. Young (9) : A very young and promising cricketer ; a safe bat, watching the ball carefully , and bowls a good medium-pace ball , with an accurate pitch -15 wickets , average 4.9 . R. Stead (7.5): Very fast left -handbowler ; bowls a lot of wides, but is almost unplayable whenthe wicket suits him, as o nthesoft wickets of last year it often did; winnerof thebowling prize-33 wickets, average 2.32 . J. Smith (7) : One of the veterans of the eleven ; is not a run-getting bat,but often not easyto dispose of; asafe catch inthelong-field . A. Smith(5.3) : Is likely to be agoodall-round m a n,butdidnotcomeu pto expectations last year; should turn out a really excellent trundler. J. Foster (4.8) : Arun-getting bat,but less reliable last season ;lacks patience ,and is too anxious toscore ; fairly goodlong-stop. ५ LondesboroughParkClub.-W.A. Usher (14.93 ) : Fine defensive bat , rarely fails to score ,might makemore use of his hitting powers ; good change bowler . R. Newbold (10.61 ): G o o dall-roundcricketer ; safe bat; haskept wicket well this season. A. Siddall (12.26) : Afirst- class fast bowler, withgoodbreakfromtheoff ; goodbat; canfield well anywhere. W. Harbour (14.5): Goodmedium-pace bowler , with break both ways ; has done himself morejustice as abat
