Taplin (9.7 ) : A fine bat , andplays in good style ; began well, but was unfortunate during latter part of the season ; bowled consistently well , and bore thebrunt of the attack ; a fine field anywhere. E. H. Couch(7.5): A nimprovingbat, hits very cleanly ; will make a goodbowler . G. P. Searle (6.1 ) : A steady bat, andvery good field . H. E. Sherlock (3.2 ) : Bats in good form; bowls fairly , and is a good field . J. Bartlett (3) : Canhit hard; a fair field . G. C. Collyer (2.5): Didnot come up to expectations as a bat ; has improved in his bowling , was occasionally most effective . H. P. Champion (2.1 ) : A fair and promising bat and field ; wants strength . A. Gifford (1.3) : Fielded well throughout the season ; disappointing as a bat. E. Adams(1.1 ) : A keen cricketer , but unlucky ; fields well , a n dcanbowlfairly well . S. Bush(45): A very fine all -round cricketer ; as a bat is even nowalmost first -class ; scoring all round with great rapidity ; must learn to be patient on a slow wicket ; a good medium-pace bowler , possessed of manydodges , and at times quite deadly ; a first -class field anywhere ; a good judge of the game, and has madeanexcellent captain . C. E. Wilson (21.76 ): A hard hitter , whoseplay suffered in the beginning of the season from nervousness ; a very good field , and safe catch" in thecountry; " a slow bowler, w h ocanget wickets at a pinch. A. N. D. Fagan (13.74) : A goodandsteady bat, whoseaverage shouldbe m u c hhigher if he could hit a half- volley ; a fine field , and has taken the wicket with success . H. C. A. Brooking (16) : Avery goodfast bowler, w h ounfortunately did notget into formtill late in the season; a splendid field andcatch , and a tremendous hitter when set . F. O. Wyatt (10.46 ) : Avery difficult m a n tobowl; mostuseful to tire a bowler; should bea very good bat next year; m u c himproved in fielding . A. E. Delavoye (14.3 ) : An uncertain bat , very strong on his " off," very weak on his " leg " side ; a really brilliant field at point , and a bowler whoshould be deadly whenhe haslearned to pitch theball up. J. B. Orr(10.37) : Verydisappointing as abat; toofondof a" pull ;" a very fine field at mid-off , and a safe catch . C. C. Onslow (9.33 ) : Has played little , owing to work; a useful bat,and really good field . R. J. Hunter (14) : A hard-hitting left-h a n dbat, w h ocan nearly always get a few runs; has not fulfilled expectations in his bowling, and sometimes goes to sleep in the field . C. P. Isaac (4.88 ) : Bats in beautiful style , butsomehowfails to get runs at present ; uncertain in the field . W. R.
