Dixon : Agood bat, with great hitting power; effective bowler throughout ; proved himself the best batsman andbest bowler in the team; a successful captain . *J. R. Bowden- Smith : Batted very well at the beginning of the season , but owing to an accident only played a few times afterwards ; an excellent field at mid-off . *E. F. Rutter: O u rsteadiest bat, with easy style , with some pretty strokes on the off -side ; indifferent field . *H. S. Garraway: Batted well throughout the season ; sometimes a fair bowler; poor field . F. J. Nicholls : A steady bat ; scored well against the M.C.C.; a brilliant field at point , and a moderate bowler. *E. W. Moss : Owingto illness has not been capable of much; is a very fair left -handbat. *W. E. Oakshott : Adashing bat, but not at all a consistent scorer ; a good field at cover. E. J. Whitting: Agoodbat; fair bowler; badfield . *V. H .Rendall: Agood and steady left -hand fast bowler ; came on wonderfully at the end of the season ; bad bat and field . *C. O. V. Owen : A fair bowler , slow right- band; poor bat and field . * W. C. Dunkerley : Sometimes kept wicket well , but not altogether satisfactory ; poor bat. *H. M.
